Instructor - PADI 266713

Alex started diving in Egypt with the open water course at the Red Sea Diving College in 2006. He was hooked! and continued diving on further trips to the Red Sea. He gained his Advanced Open Water qualification with Moby Dives in Gozo in 2008 and a year later Rescue Diver in St Lucia, West Indies. In Thailand in 2010 he became a Dive Master and then Sail Rock Divers’ youngest ever Open Water Scuba Instructor at the age of 18.

Alex eventually headed back to England to study Zoology and dive the cold, tidal seas. In university breaks he worked as a Sail Rock Divers instructor, visited the Coresea Marine Research Centre and collected data for his thesis on giant clams and the effects of human activities on marine wildlife. Later, with his BSc (Hons) degree in his pocket, Alex spent a year as an instructor with Sail Rock Divers.

In 2015/16 Alex was a Moby Dives instructor during the Gozo season and in the winter was a Sail Rock Divers instructor and helped Coresea to train interns. He also found time to complete his Master Scuba Diver Trainer qualification and now Alex is back again at Moby Dives for another season.

Alex enjoys teaching and helping others to discover the undersea world. He loves Gozo for both the shallow long dives, with time to closely observe interesting marine species, and the deeper cave and wreck dives where he might discover something a little more unusual.
